Baptism is the first of the Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church. Baptism welcomes the person into the Church community. The baptised person becomes a member of the Body of Christ – the Church, with all the rights and responsibilities it brings.
It is traditional in the Roman Catholic Church that parents bring children to Baptism. The parents participate in a formation programme so that they understand their role as the ‘first educators of faith’ in the home. Adults interested in Baptism are walked with through the process of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults – often referred to as RCIA.

In the Sacrament of Reconciliation we acknowledge that we sometimes make bad choices, that we sin and ask God to forgive us. No matter what we have done God longs to offer us forgiveness.
Confirmation is the second Sacrament of Initiation. At Confirmation we receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to be good Christians. The Holy Spirit helps us to be brave and tell people by our actions and our words that we believe in Jesus.
The Holy Spirit helps us in many ways, comforts, teaches, helps us grow in our relationship with God and gives us strength to get rid of the bad habits in our lives. The Holy Spirit also gives us power and helps us know when we’ve done something wrong. Of course, we need to want to grow, learn and change to be more like God for the Holy Spirit to really work with us.
Eucharist
Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life. A great gift. Food for the journey. Preparing a child to receive the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time is an important step in living up to the promises parents made at the time of the child’s Baptism.
